Why announce a pre-release?
This version of App Wrapper has been in development for some time, including new functionality.
- Supports Provisioning Profiles
- New Update System
- Better system for finding Authority Certificates
- More extensive "Trust" checking of the certificate chain
- New channel selector UI
- New custom help system
- Monterey style listboxes
Some testers and I have been facing trouble testing App Store apps when they have a Provision Profile with some settings. I have been in contact with Apple and as of yet, I have not found what a solution that I am comfortable with.
Since the release of macOS Monterey, I've also been receiving reports that the Apple Help Viewer on Monterey doesn't work correctly, see Howard's article on it https://eclecticlight.co/2021/11/16/why-wont-that-help-book-open/, which is fantastic as people may need help with Provisioning Profiles and I've written help, but there's a high chance they won't be able to read it...
So this release of App Wrapper includes a custom Help Viewer (which I'll make available in the future) that utilizes help already created in Apple help format, but displays in on Monterey and even has a basic built-in search function.
